The New TestamentLITERAL TRANSLATION FROM ANCIENT GREEK TO ITALIAN, BY REV. PIERO OTTAVIANO
The translations below were made using the Greek source of Nestle-Aland (Stuttgart 1979, 26th edition).
From Rev. Piero Ottaviano’s notes: “Literal translation, as a drawback, is difficult to read. But its important advantage resides in its adherence to the original text. Sometimes, for instance, the source isn’t clear. On which ground can we assume we’re correctly making it clear in our translation? In order to understand it, it has to be explained. In this way [with a literal translation completed with notes and explications, editor’s note] the reader can distinguish between the Author’s thinking and the scholars’ interpretations.”
